The Overseas Delivery Program was especially fun for us as we visited relatives in Gothenburg,Stockholm and Arvika, Sweden. We drove our new Volvo V50 over 1,100 miles in Sweden and Norway for 9 enjoyable days before returning it to the factory and flying home.
The Volvo factory staff in Sweden thought of everything which made the trip very comfortable including pick up and delviery to the airport and hotel. We met several couples who also were on their way to get a new Volvo!
We thank you Craig and everyone at Gorges Volvo in Omaha and the folks in Sweden for an Extra Ordinary Experience!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. When I brought my car in for her 30 day checkup I was in and out before you or Mike were in the office. It took no time at all. I drove on roads where no person had driven before to get to Gorges. Tea, muffins and a newspaper in the
waiting room too. As I think you know my trip was great!
I intended to leave my great Swedish plates on until some law enforcement officer caught me. Well, I got caught the day after Christmas. It was the perfect catch! A (Law enforcement jurisdiction edited out by Gorges Volvo to protect the innocent... and of course one of our
happy customers) police officer stopped me on (Street edited out) just north of (Street edited out). I was almost home! I wasn't speeding. He asked if I went to Sweden to pick up the car! He is another one of your happy customers! He bought his wife a S60 recently with a
turbo. He said his has lots of power. Mine too! I pointed out the 160 mph on my speedometer - I've not gotten any where near that! I put the Nebraska plates on the rear (the plates were in my glove box) the next day!
Trip details! Arlanda Airport in Stockholm is wonderful. Wooden floors and spacious! Then my Nephew, Adam and I flew on to Paris for three days. River Seine tour - off and on. Top of the Eiffel Tower at night. Windy but beautiful! Adam needed a jacket so the Adidas store
on the Champs-Elysees. Checked out some 'literary' bars. Harry's New York Bar has both Nebraska and Creighton pennants on the wall! We went to Pere-Lachaise Cemetery. Lots of amazing grave sites. Some people at Chopin's site. We were the only Americans at Jim Morrison's
grave. (The Doors) Much more to see, nice, small hotel and lots of walking. Left from Gare Du Nord for the north land. A night at a marvelous hotel in Hamburg Germany then back on the train which got on a big boat toe cross on to Denmark. Yes, the train got on the boat
We crossed into Malmo, Sweden on the Oresund Bridge, the longest cable stayed bridge in the world. 'Turning Torso' a 54 story apartment building by the Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava, the tallest building in Sweden is in Malmo. But you can't get a picture of the
structure and the Oresund Bridge (in the distance) in the same frame. Two days in Malmo, then on to Goteborg on the very fast train to meet the Car! SAS hotel wonderful - SAS crews and Volvo management meeting new cars. On to the Volvo visitor's center and plant. My person
said 'She has attitude'. Picture attached. Since this car was built in Belgium, they hadn't seen one like it before. Met others picking up their cars, ate a lovely lunch and toured the factory. I enjoyed the time there very much, as did Adam. The next day, on to Stockholm
for 3 days before we had to leave. Stockholm is grand also. Toured the City by bus and boat and then returned to Gamla Stan (Old Town) to seek out things we saw on the tour. We enjoyed the Ice Bar at our hotel and so much more!
Mass transit in Europe works wonderfully - on time and fast! Every one we spoke with was helpful and gracious. If you greet people with a gentle 'hey hey' anywhere in Sweden you are welcomed heartily. The world economy tanked while we were in Europe - Nebraska and the Cubs
both lost. But it was a wonderful trip. I had planned various visits to Europe over the last many years, so I got to see some of the things on the list! I shall return, but this was so memorable. I thank all of you at Gorges for the Overseas Delivery of my lovely new Volvo
S40. Yes, she is beautiful and she does have attitude! At least I didn't get a red one!

Craig,You could not have asked for a better time or nicer people. You will love the interior. The brown looks like a dark chocolate bar that is the seats and the doors were as you said that brown and then a lighter brown and then that soft butter color. Gorgeous..... (Note by OSD specialist...We think GORGES is a better word spelling here!) The exterior color is also wow. There was a man there getting a white one. You are setting on this raised platform in another room with this glass wall and they go into that room to see if your car is ready!!!!!!!This garage door opens and under these spotlights they drive out your car and place it in the room. Well the minute I saw his white one of course I thought o rats we made a mistake should have gotten white. Well it was about an hour later and his car was still there and they went to see if our car was ready and up came the door and out wheeled our car. How silly of me to think I wanted white. When ours was next to his, his was just a white car. (Note by OSD specialist...White is beautiful too, and better yet his was a white Volvo XC70, not "just a white car"!) Ours was so beautiful....How can a station wagon be beautiful......anyway, (Note by Overseas Delivery Specialist...A wagon can be beautiful when it is a Volvo), it was a completely wonderful thing and we are so delighted with it. We have nothin to complain about and we feel like royalty after the way they treated us. I hope you and your boss buy cars next year and get to go see it. I am off to bed as the last 3 weeks of travel have caught up with me tonight. Have a great week. and we wish you a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

OSD specialist Note: Jan and Wes deserved to be tired. They took advantage of the Winter travel offer. Traveling first to Rome, then to Munich, and Hamburg, Germany, ferried to St. Petersburg, Russia, ferried from St. Pete's to Stockholm, Sweden, then took the train to Gothenburg, Sweden, picked up their XC70, drove around Sweden, then returned their new Volvo to Gothenburg. We arranged shipping for their new XC70 to Florida where they picked it up. All this after driving nearly 350 miles each way to place their order, because Jan and Wes like to meet people they do business with in person.
